Fractal Mesh (FraMe) Network

FraMe Networks - non-hierarchical advanced communication networks of networks systems and development of non-hierarchical (no central point of control), networked, sustainable ways of doing business enabled by these networks.

The IndraNet FraMe, mainly wireless, communications technology eliminates the requirement for expensive local fixed infrastructure, such as underground or overhead cabling. It is the unique physical architecture of the FraMe networks that enables their competitiveness with legacy systems in order to provide sophisticated communications capabilities.

Communications networks require energy for their operation and energy networks require advanced communications for their management – there are important potential synergies between the two. FraMe networks are a competitive answer to the very demanding remote management challenges involved in managing energy supply networks, going beyond the “smart grids”, now popular with investors, to enable true “intelligent power networks”

 FraMe Network -  how does it work?

  Very Simple
 

The IndraNet Network of Networks Generation (NoN-G) comprises only terminals called minders

    Located on customer premises
    Interconnected wireless by way of their transceiver component operating in the microwave
radio frequency range.
  The wirelessly interconnected minders for a multi-layered mesh network called a FraMe
(as in Fractal Mesh pronounced "frame")
  No wiring & cabling of phone lines or cellular towers and telecom exchanges required
  In brief,  a FraMe network is made of minders at customers' places
  It could not be more simple

One infrastructure, many uses

A advantage is the ability for IndraNet FraMe's to be used to provide a multiplicity of IPN's services.

IPN's are autonomous and secure IndraNet Intelligent Private Networks that are configured over each local FraMe network. They are reserved for a customer’s exclusive purposes, and leased to that customer.

Examples of such services include power grid management, security systems, traffic management systems, and private network between branches of a business.

This means that the one FraMe infrastructure will be able to be used to market a very wide range of services that presently often require different parallel infrastructures.

In other words, FraMe's are designed to provide high economies of scale.

Who wants FraMe's?

The IndraNet FraMes are designed to leverage existing infrastructure, especially abundant long distance backbone with spare capacity and that seek to increase substantially their customer base. IndraNet targets niche markets in areas that the existing infrastructure does not reach or where it cannot supply real broadband competitively.

It is estimated that by the end of this decade over 700 million broadband access lines will be in operation
globally. Broadband requirements per household are presently doubling every 18-24 months and, by the
end of this decade, at least 25 percent of all residential broadband connections are expected to require
services of 10Mbps and over. The IndraNet
FraMe networks are aimed at that market.

Potential customers fall into two categories.

  1. The first are telecom backbone operators that do not have independent access to customers. They have to rely on and, at great cost, have go through the local loop networks of their legacy competitors. Strategically, being able to by-pass their competitors and access customers directly through a wireless mesh network is of great importance to them.
  2. In the second category are emerging Broadband Service Provider (BSP) entrepreneurs, small and large, who have seen the very substantial market opportunity in the fast increasing demand for real broadband in niche markets currently starved of connectivity.

In Australasia (Australia and New Zealand), most central business districts (CBD's) are now well catered
for, however, the areas outside the CBD's have severely restricted broadband access. It is estimated that
over 4 million  in Australia and 2 million in New Zealand potential customers (homes and businesses) exist in urban and rural areas.  This is one of the markets that our
FraMe networks are designed to target.
